What is PSTN the cut off all about?
SoGEA (Single Order Generic Ethernet Access) is a technology that provides a single fiber Ethernet connection to replace the traditional telephone line (PSTN) and broadband connection, allowing customers to receive broadband services without the need for a separate phone line. The PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) cut off refers to the planned phase-out of the legacy copper-based phone network in the UK, which will result in the cessation of traditional voice services such as analog and ISDN lines, and a shift towards VoIP (Voice over IP) technology delivered through SoGEA and other modern broadband solutions. The planned cut off date for PSTN is December 2025 in the UK.
