AI agents are AI assistants that can take actions, not just answer questions. An agent can follow a process: read an email, look up a customer record, draft a reply and book a follow-up, asking a person to approve key steps.
Microsoft 365 now includes ready-made agents, and businesses can build their own with Copilot Studio. Agents can save a lot of admin time. Each one should have clear limits, the minimum access it needs, and a named person responsible for it.
