Cyber security testing

Network penetration testing for Sussex businesses

Find the weak points in your network before an attacker does. Our CREST-approved testing is delivered with ABCOM, and you get a plain-English report and a clear list of what to fix first.

What we test

We agree the scope with you first, then test the way a real attacker would, safely and with your written authorisation.

Internet-facing systems

Firewalls, remote access, web portals and anything else an attacker can reach from the internet.

Your internal network

What an intruder could reach once inside: servers, shared folders, printers and forgotten devices.

Firewalls and remote access

Rules, VPNs and remote desktop settings that are too open, out of date or left on by mistake.

Microsoft 365 and cloud sign-in

Weak sign-in settings, risky sharing and exposed cloud services.

Passwords and access

Weak, reused or default passwords and accounts with more access than they need.

Missing updates and misconfigurations

Unpatched software and settings that quietly open a door.

How it works

No surprises. You know what is being tested, when, and what happens with the results.

  1. Agree the scopeWe confirm what is in scope, the timing and the rules of engagement, and you authorise the test in writing.
  2. TestOur CREST-approved testing software probes your systems safely, with checks by our engineers.
  3. PrioritiseFindings are sorted by real-world risk, so the urgent items are obvious.
  4. ReportA plain-English report with clear, practical fixes. No jargon for jargon’s sake.
  5. Fix and retestWe help you close the gaps, then re-test to confirm they are closed.

Penetration test or vulnerability assessment?

They answer different questions. Many businesses benefit from both.

Vulnerability assessment

  • Continuous or regular checks for known weaknesses
  • Helps you prepare for Cyber Essentials
  • Ideal as an ongoing safety net

Penetration testing

  • Simulates a real attack to see what could be reached
  • Shows how weaknesses combine into real risk
  • Evidence for customers, insurers and auditors

Choose how often you test

Test once, or build it into your routine. You can spread the cost with a monthly direct debit.

One-off test

A single test to give you a clear picture today, or before a big change, tender or audit.

Six-monthly

A steady rhythm for growing businesses that change systems and staff through the year.

Quarterly

The most thorough option for regulated or higher-risk organisations.

  • Customers or insurers asking for evidence of security testing
  • Preparing for Cyber Essentials or Cyber Essentials Plus
  • After moving offices, adding sites or changing your network
  • Wanting an independent check of your IT provider’s defences

Frequently asked questions

Is penetration testing safe for our systems?

Yes. We agree the scope and timing with you first and test with your written authorisation, so your business keeps running normally.

What do we get at the end?

A plain-English report listing what we found, ranked by risk, with practical steps to fix each item. We can help you make the fixes and re-test afterwards.

How often should we test?

Many businesses test once a year or after major changes. Six-monthly or quarterly testing suits organisations that change often or handle sensitive data.

Can we pay monthly?

Yes. One-off, six-monthly and quarterly testing can be spread by monthly direct debit.

What is the difference from a vulnerability assessment?

A vulnerability assessment looks for known weaknesses on a regular basis. A penetration test goes further and simulates an attack to show what could really be reached. Read about vulnerability assessment.

Does it help with Cyber Essentials?

It supports your preparation and gives useful evidence, but it helps you prepare rather than guaranteeing a pass. See our Cyber Essentials support.
