Microsoft Intune is Microsoft’s cloud service for managing and securing laptops, desktops, phones and tablets. It lets your IT team apply security settings, install apps and updates, and protect company data on Windows, macOS, iOS/iPadOS and Android devices without servers in the office.
Key features
- Device management: enforce encryption, passwords, firewall and update settings.
- App protection: keep company data safe inside apps on personal phones without managing the whole device.
- Compliance and Conditional Access: works with Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) to block devices that are not secure.
- Windows Autopilot: new laptops set themselves up with your apps and policies when a user signs in.
- Remote wipe: secure lost or stolen devices.
Intune is included in Microsoft 365 Business Premium, E3 and E5. For more detail, including the 2026 licensing changes, read our Microsoft Intune overview.
