We use industry-recognised erasure software, WhiteCanyon WipeDrive and Blancco, to wipe hard drives and SSDs, and you get a detailed erasure report for every device. Each report records the device’s serial number, the erasure method used and whether it passed verification, so you have evidence for audits and data protection records.
Wiping vs shredding
- Certified wiping overwrites all data and checks it has gone. The drive can then be safely reused, which is better for the environment and can return value to you.
- Physical shredding is used for failed drives that can’t be wiped, or where your policy requires destruction. Onsite shredding can be arranged so drives never leave your premises intact.
Why a report matters
Under UK GDPR you must be able to show that personal data was disposed of securely. A per-device erasure certificate is the evidence auditors, insurers and regulators expect.
