How ABCOM takes over your IT

  1. Review your setup. We review your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace setup, licences, devices and security.
  2. Coordinate with your outgoing provider. We deal with them directly to collect admin access, passwords, documentation and licence details, and agree the handover date.
  3. Visit your site. We document the equipment your team relies on: network, Wi-Fi, printers, phones and any on-site servers.
  4. Give you a prioritised plan. You receive a red/amber/green plan showing what is urgent, what should be improved and what is fine as it is.
  5. Keep you informed. You get regular progress updates, and every employee gets a clear route to support from day one.
  6. Put the right controls in place. Once onboarded, we set up monitoring, reporting and the agreed security controls, so you can see what is being managed and what still needs attention.

Will there be downtime?

Normally, no. Most of the work happens in the background. Anything that needs a short outage, such as replacing a firewall, is scheduled with you in advance.

A real example

A multi-site education provider in Sussex, with around 15 computers and multiple iPads, needed a smoother transition from its previous IT provider and a clearer picture of how its Microsoft environment, devices and data were being managed. We coordinated the handover, reviewed its Microsoft 365 estate and devices, planned a move from commercial to academic Microsoft licences where eligible, reviewed domain security, set up iPad support and management, and helped with SharePoint permissions. Changes are being rolled out in stages so each one is checked before wider rollout. Read more case studies.

Before you switch

Check the notice period in your current contract; many providers require 30 to 90 days’ written notice. We can help you plan the timing. Our own agreements have a one-year minimum term with a 3-month cooling-off period at the start.
