The best way to use your Microsoft 365 work email on an Android phone is the free Microsoft Outlook app. It supports multi-factor authentication and your organisation’s security policies, and includes your calendar and contacts.

Add your email with the Outlook app (recommended)

  1. Install Microsoft Outlook from the Google Play Store.
  2. Open the app and tap Add account. If it offers accounts already on your phone, you can skip them.
  3. Enter your work email address and tap Continue.
  4. Sign in with your Microsoft 365 password and approve the sign-in with the Microsoft Authenticator app or code if asked.
  5. If your organisation uses Microsoft Intune, you may be asked to install the Company Portal app or accept app protection settings. Follow the prompts.

Can I use the Gmail app instead?

The Gmail app can connect to Microsoft 365 through Settings > Add account > Exchange and Microsoft 365. However, many organisations block other email apps for security reasons, and features such as shared calendars work better in Outlook. If Gmail will not connect, use Outlook.
