How do I get started with ABCOM?

Getting started with ABCOM is straightforward and begins with a no-obligation conversation. The aim is to understand your organisation, how technology is currently used, and where support may be helpful.

There is no pressure to commit — early discussions are about clarity, not selling.

Step 1: Initial contact

You can get in touch by:

  • Phone
  • Email
  • Using the contact form on our website

It’s helpful (but not essential) to share:

  • The size of your organisation
  • Whether you are a business or a charity
  • Any immediate concerns or upcoming changes
  • Whether you are approaching a contract renewal

Step 2: Initial conversation

The first conversation focuses on:

  • Understanding your current IT setup
  • Identifying any risks or pain points
  • Clarifying priorities and expectations

This is typically a high-level discussion in plain English. We do not expect detailed technical knowledge.

Step 3: Review and recommendations

If appropriate, we may suggest:

  • A light-touch review of systems
  • Practical recommendations
  • Options that are proportionate to your size and needs

Our role at this stage is to advise, not to pressure. You remain in control of next steps.

Step 4: Planning and onboarding (if you proceed)

If you decide to move forward, onboarding is planned carefully to minimise disruption. This typically includes:

  • Agreeing scope and priorities
  • Documenting systems
  • Planning any changes
  • Clear communication throughout

Transitions are handled methodically and at a pace that suits your organisation.

Timing and early conversations

We strongly encourage organisations to start conversations early, particularly if:

  • Existing IT contracts are due for renewal
  • Systems have grown organically without oversight
  • Trustees or directors want clearer visibility and control

Early engagement allows time to plan properly rather than reacting under pressure.

A final note

Whether you are an SME or a charity, the first step is simply a conversation. Even if you decide not to proceed, many organisations find value in having a clearer understanding of their IT position.
