Why responsible IT recycling matters
The UK produces more electronic waste per person than almost anywhere else in the world, and most of the world’s small IT equipment is never properly recycled.

How it works
Our secure IT recycling process
From your first photo to the final certificate, every device is tracked and accounted for.
Tell us what you have
Send us photos and a rough breakdown of the equipment, such as 20 laptops, 2 servers and a box of drives.
We arrange collection
We agree a collection date that suits you, for one site or several.
Duty of Care
We complete the Duty of Care waste transfer paperwork when we collect.
Secure processing at our office
Equipment comes back to our Burgess Hill office, where data is destroyed on every machine and drive using our dedicated multi-drive wiping system.
Refurbish and reuse
Working machines are prepared for reuse with our dedicated system for installing operating systems on multiple devices at once.
Asset list and certificates
You receive an itemised asset list and a certificate of data destruction with serial numbers and details for every device.
Since 1996We’re proud that in nearly 30 years of recycling IT for businesses, we have never had a data breach.

Data destruction
Nothing leaves without a paper trail

WhiteCanyon WipeDrive or Blancco overwrites and verifies every sector, so working drives can be reused safely. You receive an erasure report for each device.
Physical shredding
Failed drives, or drives your policy says must be destroyed, are shredded. Onsite shredding means drives never leave your premises intact.
Reuse first
Redundant IT? We’ll put it to work
Not everything has to go to waste. Working equipment is refurbished and reused wherever possible, and we donate computers to local charities and community causes.
Because resale value can offset the cost of collection and data destruction, IT recycling often costs very little or nothing. We confirm pricing before booking.

FAQs
IT recycling questions
How do you securely destroy data on old computers?
Drives are wiped using certified erasure software (WhiteCanyon WipeDrive or Blancco), which overwrites and verifies every sector, and you receive an erasure report for each device. Failed drives, or drives your policy says must be destroyed, are physically shredded, and onsite shredding is available.
What is the difference between data wiping and shredding?
Wiping uses certified software to overwrite every sector of a working drive, so the device can be safely reused. Shredding physically destroys the drive, which is used for failed drives or where your policy requires destruction. Both come with certificates.
Can SSDs and phones be wiped securely?
Yes. Certified erasure tools support SSDs, and phones and tablets are securely reset and verified. Where a device can’t be wiped to the required standard, it is physically destroyed.
What paperwork do we receive?
A Duty of Care waste transfer document, an itemised asset list, and a certificate of data destruction that includes the serial number and details of each device. Everything is also available in our online portal.
What do you need from us to arrange a collection?
Just some photos and a rough breakdown of what you have, for example the number of laptops, desktops, servers, drives and phones. We then confirm the price and agree a collection date.
How much does IT recycling cost?
Often very little or nothing. The resale value of working equipment can offset the cost of collection and data destruction. We confirm pricing before booking.
What IT equipment do you collect?
Laptops, desktops, servers, storage, hard drives and SSDs, network equipment, phones, tablets, monitors, printers and peripherals.
Is IT recycling compliant with UK GDPR and WEEE?
Yes. Data is destroyed securely with evidence for your UK GDPR records, equipment is processed in line with the WEEE Regulations 2013, and you receive Duty of Care documentation as required by the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
Do you offer onsite hard drive shredding?
Yes. We can arrange onsite shredding so drives never leave your premises intact. It is often used by NHS, public sector and regulated organisations.
What happens to our equipment after collection?
Every item is scanned and logged, data is wiped or destroyed, and working equipment is refurbished for reuse or donated to local causes. Anything that can’t be reused is recycled under the WEEE Regulations.
Do you collect small amounts?
Yes. Small volumes are welcome, from a handful of laptops to a full office clear-out.
Do you collect from businesses across Sussex and the UK?
Yes. We collect across Sussex and the South East from our base in Burgess Hill, and can arrange collections elsewhere in the UK, including multi-site programmes.
